OUR HISTORY

Though the Capers’ Cares Foundation, Inc (CCF) was established on February 17th, 2022, the premise of this organization - Capers’ Cares - was birthed seven years prior. The phrase "Capers Cares" was originally crafted to be the campaign slogan for an eager Saint Augustine’s University (SAU) Student Advocate running for Student Government Association (SGA) President. Just as shocking as it was to win the illustrious honor of SGA President, our founder, Henry E. Capers, Jr. never thought that an organization would bear his name. More importantly, Henry never expected that his passion for community engagement and charitable giving would evolve into a nonprofit now on the rise. Now, CCF's goal is to create life-changing opportunities for the city of Durham through authentic and meaningful community engagement. With caring at the forefront of all our work, the Capers’ Cares Foundation works diligently to support those in need in the Durham community and its surrounding areas.
